About Sub-Label Recordings

Sub-Label Recordings is an award winning, multi genre record label releasing electronic music. The label formed in 2012 in Salford, Manchester, UK. We are a team of 2 core Directors, Nad Asghar and Ben Jacob. They bring their experience and knowledge of the music industry in both live and electronic music, to all aspects of the label.

Sub-Label Recordings and Sub-Label Publishing are part of the Sub-Label Group.

We are not just a Record Label and Publisher, but also a registered UK Company. Under Sub-Label Recordings Ltd. We release across 4 ‘sub-labels’ covering a wide spectrum of electronic music. We are a multi-genre record label releasing electronic music in the following styles:

Black is firmly rooted in outright Techno, taking influences that range from Detroit, Berlin-UK.

White is influenced by deeper, more ambient and dub sounds of Electronica.

Red provides melodic and progressive sounds, whilst moving through traditional House styles.

Yellow is our latest extension, which focuses on liquid, minimal and ambient Drum and Bass styles.

We are always working with the newest approaches of streaming and eventually buying music. Crypto-based consumer platforms are developing towards this aim. At SLR, we developed a formal contract that allows for the Artist and the Label to work with future music platforms. This allows us to provide a transparent service.

We aim to provide a service where we manage the Artists’ music from beginning through to the end finishes, and after it is released. We provide comprehensive, and structured feedback, for development, mastering, marketing, advertising and promotion. We are also actively releasing music in all formats, including CD and Vinyl, as well as digital.

Sub-Label Recordings are here to support Artists and release the highest quality music. We know you can do much of this yourself, but we want to provide a better service for your music, while you remain creative. We won’t ignore you or throw your music away if it doesn’t fit the label either. Instead, we will steer you towards the right direction. Equally, If there is potential in your music and is relevant to our taste, we will work with you to develop a successful release.
